Grading System (Fall 2020 – Fall 2022)
During this period, transcripts include undergraduate courses taken under the course unit system.
GPA Calculation Formula
GPA=Quality PointsSemester Hours+(Course Units×4)\text{GPA} = \frac{\text{Quality Points}}{\text{Semester Hours}} + (\text{Course Units} \times 4)GPA=Semester HoursQuality Points+(Course Units×4)
-
Course Units are first totaled.
-
The total is then multiplied by 4.
-
This result is added to the total number of semester hours to complete the calculation.
Grading System Before Fall 2024
-
A 3-point grading scale was used.
-
All work attempted (not just satisfactorily completed) was included in the calculation as “hours attempted.”
Combined GPA Formula (3-Point & 4-Point Systems)
This formula ensures that coursework graded under both systems is fairly combined into the cumulative GPA.
